A busy and dynamic national chain operating 300 fast moving general merchandise retail stores.
They are offering an excellent opportunity if you are looking to extend your career in merchandising/buying/planning. They operate from new offices in the Northern suburbs of Sydney, close to public transport with parking also provided.
Within their buying and planning department, the role is to manage and control the replenishment of the core products to ensure that they are always in stock with adequate forward supplies on order and in line with inventory budgets.
You will work closely with the buyers and planners on order placements, OTB, promotions and analysis of seasonal trends, rates of sales, supplier performance etc.
To be successful you will need to have strong analytical and numerical skills, be highly organized and able to plan and make decisions in a fast paced retail environment. Strong Excel spreadsheet skills are essential. Experience working with SAP SD and MM modules would be highly desirable.
As you are working in a team you will be good at communicating and building relationships with the buyers, planners, store operations and suppliers. Ideally you will have a background in retail, an understanding of store operations and already be working in an end-to-end inventory replenishment or distribution role. You will have good business acumen and enjoy the fact that you can impact sales.
